1. Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to PDF Editor: Scanner & Reader (the "Application"), provided by Abdul Hameed Developer (the "Service Provider") as a free service. The Application is intended for use "AS IS" and provides PDF scanning, reading, file management, conversion, and launcher-related features.
We respect your privacy and aim to process information only as needed to operate, improve, secure, and support the Application.
2. Information Collection and Use
When you download and use the Application, we may collect limited technical and usage information to improve stability, performance, and user experience.
- Device information, operating system version, app version, IP address, timestamps, feature usage, and time spent using the Application.
- Device identifiers, including advertising identifiers where permitted, used for advertising attribution, analytics, and fraud prevention.
- Crash logs, diagnostics, and anonymized usage statistics through Firebase, analytics, or similar tools.
- PDF and file metadata such as file size, file type, page count, date, extension, and storage location when needed for scanning, reading, organizing, converting, or cleaning features.
- Camera, image, media, and storage information only when needed to scan, import, read, convert, save, organize, or manage user-selected documents and files.
- Network, Wi-Fi, phone state, notification, overlay, foreground service, and device status information may be accessed to support app compatibility, service reliability, user-visible tasks, analytics, advertising, and fraud prevention.
- Information you provide when contacting support, such as your email address and the content of your message.
Document privacy commitment: We do not use your personal documents for marketing. The Application is designed to process selected documents and images for the features you choose. We do not intentionally read or transmit the actual content of your private PDF files, images, or documents unless you explicitly choose a feature that shares, uploads, opens, or exports that content.
3. Core Device Permissions
The Application may request permissions depending on your Android version, device type, and selected features. Permissions are used according to the principle of minimum necessary access.
Camera
Camera access is used to scan paper documents, receipts, notes, cards, pages, and other physical content into images or PDF files. Camera access is used only for scanning features selected by the user.
Photos, Media, Images, and Storage
READ_MEDIA_IMAGES, READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, or similar media and storage permissions may be used to import selected images, convert images into PDF files, extract PDF pages as images, save generated files, edit documents, organize files, and manage files selected by the user.
All Files Access / Manage External Storage
Where supported and requested, MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE or broad file access may be used for document management, deep file scanning, duplicate file detection, junk file review, temporary PDF cleanup, batch organization, moving files to selected folders, and related file tools.
When broad storage access is used, the Application is intended to inspect file metadata such as extension, size, date, and location to identify manageable or cleanable items. Cleaning, moving, and deletion actions are initiated by the user. You can revoke this access through Android settings.
Notifications and Foreground Service
Notification, Firebase messaging, and foreground service permissions may be used to provide app notices, scan status, conversion status, file processing status, service messages, or related updates where supported. Foreground service access helps keep user-visible processing tasks active while they are in use.
Network, Wi-Fi State, and Internet Access
Internet, network state, and Wi-Fi state permissions may be used for app services, ads, analytics, crash reporting, updates, support features, cloud-connected functionality, connectivity checks, and service reliability.
Advertising ID, AdServices, Attribution, and Install Referrer
Advertising ID, AdServices ad ID, AdServices topics, AdServices attribution, and Google Play install referrer permissions may be used for advertising, attribution, ad measurement, analytics, fraud prevention, and campaign performance measurement where permitted by Android and Google Play settings.
Phone State and Basic Phone State
Phone state or basic phone state access may be used by the Application or integrated SDKs for device compatibility checks, fraud prevention, analytics, advertising operation, and service reliability. The Application does not use this permission to read call content.
Overlay / System Alert Window
SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW may be used only for supported floating, overlay, or user-visible utility surfaces where available in the app version. You can manage overlay permission in Android settings.
Wallpaper Permissions
SET_WALLPAPER and wallpaper-related permissions may be used only for supported launcher or home screen customization behavior where available in the app version.
Delete Package Request
REQUEST_DELETE_PACKAGES may be used only to help users start standard Android uninstall flows for app or file-management related actions. The Application does not silently uninstall apps.
Wake Lock and Vibration
Wake lock may be used to keep user-visible scanning, conversion, or file-processing tasks from being interrupted. Vibration may be used for basic feedback, alerts, or interaction responses inside supported app features.
Google Play License and Privacy Attestation
Google Play license checks and privacy attestation permissions may be used to verify app distribution, support platform integrity, prevent fraud or abuse, and help operate integrated services.
Launcher and Home Screen Access
Because the Application is a launcher application, launcher-related access may be used to support home screen layout behavior, shortcuts, app access surfaces, widgets, search surfaces, and related customization features. If set as your default launcher, parts of your home screen experience may change, while installed apps and personal files remain available on your device.
4. Third Party Access
The Application may use third-party service providers for analytics, advertising, crash reporting, app distribution, cloud-connected features, and platform support. These providers may process limited technical or aggregated data according to their own privacy policies.
- Google Play Services
- AdMob or other advertising networks
- Google Analytics for Firebase
- Firebase Crashlytics
- Other analytics, attribution, or advertising partners depending on app version and distribution channel
5. Opt-Out Rights
You can stop information collection by uninstalling the Application. You may also manage permissions such as camera, storage, all files access, overlay, notifications, wallpaper access, and launcher settings through Android device settings.
You can opt out of personalized advertising through your device settings, including resetting or limiting use of your advertising identifier where supported.
6. Data Retention Policy
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to operate, support, secure, and improve the Application, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our terms. Anonymous or aggregated analytics data may be retained for a reasonable period to improve performance and reliability.
Files saved on your device remain under your control and may be deleted through the Application or device storage tools where supported.
7. Children
The Application is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards intended to protect information associated with the Application. However, no method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
9. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When changes are made, the revised version will be made available through this page or related app materials. Continued use of the Application after changes take effect means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
10. Your Consent
By using the Application, you consent to the processing of information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please stop using and uninstall the Application.
